Frequently asked questions
Booking, payment, visas and life on the road: short answers from our team.
Booking and payment
How do I book a tour?
Send us the request form on the tour page, the trip planner or a message on WhatsApp. Your consultant confirms availability and the final price within 24 hours. To confirm, you pay a deposit; we then send you the booking confirmation and, closer to the date, your travel documents.
How much is the deposit and when do I pay the rest?
For private trips the deposit is 25% of the total, and the balance is due 30 days before arrival. For group departures it is 30% by bank transfer, with the balance 30 days before departure. If you book less than 30 days before the trip, the full amount is due at booking. The terms and conditions have all the details.
How can I pay?
By international bank transfer, or by card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, UnionPay). Your consultant sends you the payment details with the confirmation.
What happens if I have to cancel?
Cancellation fees depend on how close to the trip you cancel, starting at 5% more than 30 days before. Some group departures and flights have their own conditions, which are shown in the programme. We strongly recommend travel insurance with cancellation cover.
Can you change a programme or make it private?
Yes. Every programme on the site can run as a private trip on your dates, and we can add or remove days, cities, hotels or activities. Many of our trips are built from scratch with the trip planner.
Before you travel
Do I need a visa?
Citizens of the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway and many other countries enter visa-free for up to 30 days. Others use the e-visa. See the travel guide and tell us your nationality so we can check for you.
When is the best time to go?
April to early June and September to October: warm days, cool evenings and fruit in the bazaars. Summer is very hot in the desert cities, and winter is cold but quiet and beautiful. Month by month on When to go.
Are international flights included?
International flights are not included in the tour prices unless the programme says so, but we can book them for you or advise on the best connections. Domestic flights and trains inside the programme are included.
Is Uzbekistan safe?
Yes. It is one of the safest destinations in Asia, with a strong tourist police presence and very welcoming people. Our local team is with you, or reachable on WhatsApp, 24 hours a day.
Do I need travel insurance?
It is not required for entry, but we strongly recommend insurance with medical and cancellation cover for every trip.
During the trip
What is included in a tour?
Usually accommodation with breakfast, all transfers and transport in the programme (car, minibus or train), a licensed guide in your language, and the entrance fees listed. Each programme shows exactly what is included in its rates and conditions.
Which languages do your guides speak?
Spanish, English, Italian, German, French and Russian. We match both your consultant and your guide to your language.
How big are the groups?
Our group departures are small: usually up to 10 to 16 travellers, depending on the programme. Private trips are just you and the people you travel with.
Is there a single supplement?
Yes, a single room costs extra; the supplement is shown in the programme rates. If you travel alone on a group departure and would like to share, ask us: we can sometimes match you with another traveller.
Can you handle dietary needs?
Yes. Vegetarian, gluten-free and other needs are easy to arrange if you tell us when you book, so we can brief hotels and restaurants.
Is the trip suitable for older travellers or children?
Yes. The old cities are flat and walkable, the trains are comfortable and we adjust the pace, the walking and the hotels to your group. Tell us about anyone with limited mobility and we will plan around it.
